Vista Wealth Management is an SEC-registered investment advisor. We strive to manage assets efficiently, taking into account our clients’ goals, while minimizing both costs and taxes. We manage a range of investment portfolios that include many asset classes.
Our portfolio construction uses strong academic research and the most sophisticated tools available. Drawing on the skills and experience of the Vista team, we build our portfolios and test them rigorously through our Investment Committee meetings each month. We have a strong team that will also draw on outside experts when contemplating major changes to our client’s portfolios.
Vista’s portfolios are well diversified, focusing on asset class investing that is low cost and tax-efficient. They typically include a tilt towards asset classes that have rewarded investors for the risks they assumed (of course, past performance is not a guarantee of future returns). Research consistently shows that choosing the right asset allocation is the most important decision in the investment process. That decision will determine the majority of the volatility in your portfolio. That’s why much of our process focuses on your overall financial plan, your required rate of return, and your tolerance for risk.
Through Vista's time-tested discovery process, we gather both qualitative and quantitative information about you. We then determine your portfolio based on our conversations, your goals, and our planning. We balance risk with return specific to every client and then recommend a fundamental portfolio allocation. Once we’ve arrived at a portfolio decision with you, we focus on placing each asset class in the most efficient vehicle, whether it’s a retirement account, a fully taxable account, or an account designed for charitable gifting. We will integrate all assets and accounts into an overall plan that is both efficient and practical. This process and the eventual design will be reflected in your Investment Policy Statement and Wealth Management Plan documents.
After implementing your portfolio, we begin a disciplined process to rebalance and maintain the design going forward. For this purpose, we employ the latest tools to monitor portfolios. In the rebalance process, we consider taxes, brokerage costs, and your ongoing cash needs. As we update your planning, your portfolio may change as well, which repeats the above process.
Successful investment management has always included both art and science. At Vista, our strong experience in working with wealthy individuals helps us to properly balance the use of each of these elements. This provides the peace of mind that our clients expect and deserve.
